📖 | What is Inquanta?
Inquanta is a Discord bot designed to help communities track measurable contributions and progress. Whether your community is focused on writing, studying, exercise, or any other quantifiable activity, Inquanta provides the tools to measure, track, and celebrate achievements together.
The bot transforms individual efforts into community-wide initiatives through:
- Custom Counters: Track any measurable activity with custom units
- Leaderboards: Foster healthy competition and motivation
- Simple Interface: Easy-to-use slash commands for all interactions
- Admin Controls: Comprehensive management tools for server administrators
🚀 | Getting Started
Step 1: Invite Inquanta to Your Server
To get started, you'll need to invite Inquanta to your Discord server. Visit our homepage and click the "Invite the Bot" link. Make sure you have the necessary permissions to add bots to your server.
Step 2: Set Up Your First Counter
Once Inquanta is in your server, server administrators can create their first counter using:
/admin counter create [name] [unit] (description)
For example, to create a writing counter:
/admin counter create name:Harvest of Tales unit:words description:Summer writing contest!

Step 3: Start Contributing
Users can immediately begin adding their contributions:
/add counter:harvest of tales (words) amount:500

This would add 500 words to the user's total in the WritingMarathon counter.
Step 4: Use Leaderboards to Stay Competitive
Track your progress and see how you stack up against others by viewing the leaderboard for any counter:
/leaderboard counter:harvest of tales (words)

Leaderboards update automatically as users add contributions, making it easy to stay motivated and celebrate achievements together!
The leaderboard shows the top 10 contributors for each counter, as well as the contribution of the user who requested it.
🎯 | Basic Concepts
Counters
Counters are the foundation of Inquanta. Each counter represents a specific type of activity your community wants to track. Counters have:
- Name: A unique identifier for the counter
- Unit: What you're measuring (words, hours, pages, etc.)
- Description: Optional explanation of the counter's purpose. This is shown at the top of the leaderboard, above the top 10 contributors.
Contributions
Contributions are the individual entries users make to counters. Inquanta maintains the running total of every user's contribution for each counter, and these totals are used to generate leaderboards.
Leaderboards
Leaderboards show how users rank against each other for specific counters. They're automatically updated whenever users add contributions and help foster community engagement through friendly competition.
Permissions
Inquanta recognizes three permission levels:
- Regular Users: Can add contributions, view leaderboards, and reset their own progress
- Server Admins: Users with "Administrator" or "Manage Server" permissions in a server who can create/delete counters and manage users on behalf of a server
- Inquanta Admins: Members of the Inquanta team, who can manage the bot
💡 | Best Practices
For Communities
- Set Clear Goals: Define what each counter is for and any community goals
- Encourage Participation: Celebrate milestones and achievements
- Be Inclusive: Design counters that accommodate different skill levels
- Regular Engagement: Host events or challenges around your counters
For Counter Design
- Meaningful Units: Choose units that accurately represent the activity
- Reasonable Scale: Avoid units that result in extremely large or small numbers
- Clear Purpose: Each counter should have a specific, well-defined goal
- Consistent Naming: Use a clear naming convention for multiple counters
For Users
- Honest Reporting: Only add contributions you've actually completed
- Regular Updates: Add contributions consistently rather than in large batches. This ensures that your statistics are accurate.
- Community Spirit: Use the leaderboards for motivation, not competition
- Ask Questions: Don't hesitate to ask administrators about counter rules
For Admins
- Clear Communication: Make sure all counter rules and guidelines are easily accessible to your community
- Monitor Activity: Watch for unusual or suspicious contribution patterns to maintain fairness
- Fair Moderation: Use bans only when necessary; issue warnings and resets before taking stronger actions
- Keep Records: Document any moderation actions for transparency and future reference
